TENCEL™ Modal with Micro technology
TENCEL™ Modal with Eco Soft technology
TENCEL™ Modal with Micro technology offers even a finer quality of lightness and beautiful softness for long-lasting natural comfort. Using Micro technology, TENCEL™ Modal fibers are extra fine and light fibers that come from sustainable wood sources.
For delicate softness, the Eco Soft technology uses elemental chlorine-free bleaching in an integrated pulp-to-fiber process that has high recovery rates of processed ingredients and causes very low air emissions. It mainly uses surplus renewable energy from the pulp mill, making this fiber an environmentally responsible choice as proven by the EU Ecolabel.
Long Lasting Softness
Gorgeous softness comes from the smooth surface and high flexibility of TENCEL™ Modal fine fibers. When put to the test - well, many tests - measurements and hand evaluations confirm that TENCEL™ Modal fibers are twice as soft as cotton (those tests include Kawabata, TSA, Handle-o-meter, and Phabro-meter). Move over cotton, the natural softness of TENCEL™ Modal fibers lasts longer and is able to withstand repeated wash and dry cycles in comparison.
Enhanced Breathability
From natural material, the fibers are designed to regulate the absorption and release of moisture for a fabric breathability that supports your body’s natural thermal regulation. The TENCEL™ Modal cellulose fibers have a higher vapour uptake than cotton.
Minimum Static Charge
The ability to absorb moisture makes TENCEL™ Modal fibers tension-free with no electrostatic charging. In comparison with synthetics, there is an absence of electrostatic charge under normal atmospheric conditions.
Botanic Origin
TENCEL™ Modal fibers are mainly manufactured from beech wood (a natural and renewable raw material) sourced from sustainable forests in Austria and neighboring countries. TENCEL™ Modal fibers have earned US Department of Agriculture (USDA) BioPreferred® designation.
Sustainable Production
Fully integrated pulp and fiber production at the Lenzing site in Austria makes it possible to produce fibers in an eco-responsible way. Lenzing strives to safeguard resources for future generations by the use of renewable energy from the pulp mill and by recovery of remaining components as co-products.
Biodegradable
Derived from nature, all TENCEL™ standard Modal fiber types have been certified as biodegradable and compostable under industrial, home, soil and marine conditions, thus they can fully revert back to nature.
